This morning arrive in Zurich. Meet your tour director and de-luxe motorcoach and drive to Lucerne and enjoy a city tour the impressive city walls, Kopelbridge - the mural decorated covered bridge dating back to 1333, and ornate patrician houses lining cobbled streets. You see the Lion Monument, a masterful stone sculpture in honor of the Swiss Guard - among the first victims of the French Revolution. Drive along the shores of Lake Lucerne past the towering Mt. Pilatus. Enjoy a panoramic view of mountains and foothills. You follow the shore road and stop near Brienz. See the dome-shaped Sustenhorn and ranges of Brienzer Rothorn. Continue to Interlaken. Drive past Spiez and through the Lotschbergtunnel to Visp. You turn to the village of Taesch. Full day excursion to Gornergrat, above Zermatt, Switzerland's highest open-air train station. Take the Gornergrat Bahn railway started in 1898, hauling tourists from Zermatt to a scenic overlook. The panorama is of dazzling beauty. At the foot of the ridge stretches the immense frozen river of the Gorner Glacier. After breakfast start your Klein Matterhorn Excursion. A unique electric taxi will drive you to the foot of Zermatt's highest most spectacular mountain ride. Enjoy stunning views as we ascend to Furi and Trockener before boarding Europe's highest cable car to arrive on the snow-capped top of the world at 12,400 ft and a magnificent panorama of the highest peaks. This morning return to Tasch and depart to Bern , the capital. Walk through the old town with its narrow streets, beautiful fountains and baroque burgher houses. See "Kaefigturm", a relic of the old town wall. You also visit the French Church containing frescoes from the 13th century. The landmark is the Clock Tower, also a remnant of the old town wall. Then proceed to Gruyere , world famous for its cheese . This little fortified town is perched on a hill in a landscape full of grace. It charms is derived from when the Sarine Valley was under the Counts of Gruyeres. We'll visit a cheese factory and you will have time to stroll the cobbled streets where no cars are allowed. We suggest lunch on your own at the Fleur De Lys ; try the traditional specialties of cheese fondue . And for dessert try raspberries with fresh churned cream. This afternoon proceed past the famous town of Montreux along Lake Geneva to Geneva,. It has an idyllic setting on one of the biggest alpine lakes within view of Mount Blanc. After breakfast start your tour. You discover Geneva's sparkling harbor, pass green parks and residences. Visit the United Nations formerly, the Palais des Nations. Then visit the Patek Philippe Museum, home to the prestigious master watch makers. Discover how a passion for timepieces has brought together an extraordinary display of watches, musical automata and portrait miniatures, in addition to a library dedicated to horology. The last visit is to the famous Chocolate Maker Paul Stettler that has produced chocolate since 1947. You visit his Chocolate Laboratory and be given a taste. Rest of the day free. This morning travel by to the Italian Alpine town of Aosta. The town, which has been the gateway to the Great and Little St. Bernard Passes, was originally built as a Roman fort soon after 25 B.C. On arrival proceed on a half day tour. The old town is still surrounded by well-preserved Roman walls, with twenty towers. Everywhere there are signs of the Roman period. Your full day tour will take you to the scenic surrounding area of the autonomous Aosta Valley, with its beautiful side valleys. Visit the magnificent Saint-Pierre Castle (to be confirmed - depending on opening schedules). This evening enjoy farewell dinner at your hotel. Overnight in Aosta.
