Get acquainted with Buenos Aires during this tour highlighting the city's major neighborhoods and attractions. Tour highlights include "Casa Rosada"; the rose-colored Presidential Residence; the Cathedral and the Cabildo (Town Hall); the "Obelisco," a symbol of Buenos Aires city built in May 1936 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Buenos Aires. Visit La Recoleta area, including its opulent cemetery, the resting place of Eva Perón. Buenos Aires is the birthplace and world capital of tango, a rhythm that was created at the end of the 19th century, as a fusion of European and African music. Its melancholic and somewhat sullen sound is the unusual backdrop for a most electrifying, sultry dance. The city is full of tango houses with live orchestras and dancers. This evening enjoy dinner and a Tango show at La Ventana. (Breakfast, Dinner)
- Day 4 - Buenos Aires: Enjoy a day at leisure for optional tours or exploring on your own. Popularly known as the "Paris of South America", the city of Buenos Aires is world wide known due to its strong cultural contrasts which come out in the varied architecture present in historical buildings, monuments, museums, theatres and open areas. Optional tours include Gaucho's Day at the Pampas, Tigre and Parena River, and the San Telmo Flea Market. These optional tours are with others besides our group. (Breakfast)
- Day 5 - Buenos Aires/Puerto Madryn: After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight to Puerto Madryn. On arrival, meet your local representative and proceed on a full-day tour to Punta Tombo Penguins Reservoir, the largest penguin nesting ground in continental South America. Punta Tombo is the most important Magellan Penguins colony within Patagonia. Half a million of them arrive at this place every year in order to breed. The first penguins arrive in September and stay here up to mid March but the best season to see them is after November, once the babies are born. One of the greatest features of this Reservation is the fact that you can literally walk among the penguins, follow them and learn their habits, see how they feed their babies, the rites of pairing, the fights for the defense of their territories, how they build their nests, and the restless walks they take to and from the sea. In other words, you can closely watch these tender little animals like you never imagined you could (the touching of penguins is strictly prohibited!). Dinner is included at a local restaurant within walking distance of your hotel. (Breakfast, Dinner)
- Day 6 - Puerto Madryn: This morning, depart for a full-day tour to the Peninsula Valdes, one of the finest wildlife reserves in South America. Sea lions, sea elephants, seals, guanacos, rheas and many seabirds are present in large numbers on the beaches and headlands. An optional Whale Watching boat tour will be available (weather permitting) for approximately $31 per person. Get on board in search for a unique and unrepeatable adventure: watching the southern right whale. Amidst jumps and flukes over the water surface, learn about their habits and costumes.
