Important: Passport and Visa required. Your valid passport must have at least six (6) months of remaining validity at the time of travel, and with at least one blank visa page in it. You must obtain your Visa before arrival in China. Ask us for assistance. U.S. citizens do not need inoculations. Day 1 – Tuesday, December 23. Depart the U.S. for China on overnight flights. Day 2 – Wednesday, December 24. Beijing: Arrive in Beijing, located in the north and the capital city of China. Beijing is China’s sprawling cultural and political center, as well as a central base to many fascinating sites. Few other Chinese cities offer such a concentrated view of ancient and modern China. Your WTC representative will meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel, The Capital.
Day 4 – Friday, December 26. Beijing: After breakfast at the hotel, explore more Beijing sites with your guide. No visit would be complete without an excursion to see the Great Wall, truly one of the greatest feats of human engineering, stretching nearly 4,000 miles long. Begun in the 7th century B.C., final Day 5 – Saturday, December 27. Beijing/Xi’an: In the morning, tour a masterpiece of Ming architecture, the “Tiantan”, or Temple of Heaven, built for imperial sacrifices conducted on the summer and winter solstices, and one of Beijing’s grandest attractions. After lunch, transfer to the airport for your flight to Xi’an, which was an ancient capital of China for eleven dynasties and the starting point of the famed Silk Road. The cradle of Chinese civilization and inhabited since before the Neolithic era, Xi’an lies 35 miles west of the confluence of the Wei and Yellow rivers. Transfer to your hotel, The Shangri-La Golden Flower. Dinner tonight is on your own. (Breakfast, Lunch) Day 6 – Sunday, December 28. Xi’an: Today embark on a full-day tour of the Provincial Museum displaying more than 2,000 ancient artifacts reflecting the evolution of Chinese civilization. Visit the amazing underground tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang; guarded by more than 7,000 life-size Terra Cotta warriors and horses, the tomb is one of the world’s greatest archaeological treasures. Later in the evening, enjoy a memorable Tang Dynasty Dinner and Show. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Day 7 – Monday, December 29. Xi’an/Guilin: After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Guilin. The afternoon is spent on a tour of the Reed Flute Cave, followed by check-in at The Waterfall Hotel. Dinner is on your own. (Breakfast , Lunch) Day 8 – Tuesday, December 30. Guilin: A full day tour to the Li River includes a lovely cruise with lunch served onboard. Return to the hotel later in the evening. Day 9 – Wednesday, December 31. Guilin/Shanghai: Fly to Shanghai, China’s largest city and former “Paris of the East”. Your WTC local guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel, The Equatorial. This afternoon, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour featuring Shanghai’s famous waterfront “Bund” area to see the many stately buildings of European Architecture from pre-1949 times. (Lunch) Day 10 – Thursday, January 1. Shanghai: After breakfast, enjoy a full day guided tour, which includes visits to beautiful Yu Yuan Garden with its many halls and pavilions and the Old City, and then drive through the Xintiandi Area. In the afternoon visit the Shanghai Museum. Top off the evening with a special Shanghai dinner. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Day 11 – Friday, January 2. Shanghai/U.S.: After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight home. (Breakfast) Taxes not included: Passengers must pay a RMB 90 airport user fee (approximately US $11) when departing China on international flights and RMB 50 airport fee (approximately US $6.10) for each domestic flight Inter-China flights have weight restrictions of 20 kilos/44lbs. The airline will impose a surcharge for exceeding this weight limit. |

Day 3 – Thursday, December 25. Beijing:
additions were completed in 16th century A.D. and originally built to keep out invaders of the north. Lunch is included during the tour of the Great Wall. You’ll also see “Mingshisan Ling” or Ming Tombs, a final resting place for thirteen Emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 A.D.). Built into Beijing’s scenic foothills, splendidly carved stone animals dramatically line the road on your approach. Tonight experience an authentic Beijing treat, an Imperial Dinner at the Fangshan Restaurant. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
