New York 2001
| Here is a paraphrased letter from Nora Dorn who went with us to New York , written before the trip. "There is something special about your roots. My roots are in NY. I have been in almost all the major cities in the world, and there is nothing like it. I don’t just mean culturally, but the air has a special vibrancy. When I feel old and spiritless, I go to NY. Indeed I had planned so this fall. After Sept. 11, it was difficult to see the devastation, I bled internally for the lives lost, for the survivors, for the city itself. I am still going in a few days. I will go to the museums, the theater, eat in restaurants and spend money and hope my spirit will be up to those who are there. We are paying heavily for procrastinating against terrorists in the past.” And wow is Nora ever a fantastic ageless woman. And ladies, the trip went without hitch. PS Bernie Silva knew someone at the Russian Tea Room- the group had an insider’s tour. |
