I just wanted you to know that I thoroughly enjoyed my first trip abroad. I'm such an anglophile; I loved London just as I thought I would. I was worried about walking around alone at first, but I felt perfectly safe riding the tube and everything alone. I even got out during the evenings and saw three plays, two of them alone. I thought the hotel, Copthorne Tara was wonderful and would love to stay there again. The location was perfect, so close to a tube station and bus stop, not to mention shopping. I wouldn't hesitate to go again, this time without the anxiety now that I know getting around is so easy and safe.
The group, minus one, got together Monday night for an authentic English pub dinner before they had to go home at the Prince of Wales Pub in Kensington. I just returned home last night.
Oh, I also wanted to add that the airline, Virgin Atlantic, was the absolute best. Great food, service and entertainment. I look forward to flying them again.
